Bad performances are inevitable. Despite the efforts of every professional athlete, it’s just impossible to churn out stellar performances during every match. However, when they underperform, it doesn't give us an excuse to personally attack them.

It can be justifiable to criticise the performances of an athlete when they don't put in their best (such as Gonzalo Higuain’s first-half performance
